' Dos Santos ’ lyrics reflect current cultural shifts, just as their music merges the past with the present. This satisfies a yearning felt by many BIPOC to connect their daily lived experience with their roots. For Latine folks in Chicago and beyond, City of Mirrors reflects our heritage and our lineage, and reminds us that we’re an ancient people—we’re still here, and this is what we’re going through. Dos Santos’ music and stories reflect a vibrant cultural awakening that strives to enrich the world.” – Sandra Treviño, Chicago Reader Money Chicha is an Austin, Texas based group featuring members of the Grammy-award winning Latin orchestra Grupo Fantasma and its offshoot funk outfit Brownout which performs a fuzzed-out, reverb-drenched and percussion-heavy style of music inspired by the sounds of Peru and Colombia in the 60s and 70s. This style of music, sometimes called “ chicha' music , is known for its infectious Latin beat, its psychedelic, surf guitar pyrotechnics and its melodies influenced by the indigenous culture of the Andes mountains. Fat Produce is a Miami-based soul jazz trio led by Studio City, CA natives, guitarist Addison Rifkind and drummer Michael Duffy. This duo, alongside upright bass, is a guaranteed head-nodder whose live set includes a fresh mix of original compositions and deep cuts from the hip-hop, soul, and jazz crates. Taking inspiration from the past, Fat Produce breathes new life into the guitar trio format and unearths a modern musical vocabulary encompassing the past 70 years of musical heritage while keeping it funky and groove focused.
