Winning the first million dollars in revenue is the absolute hardest thing for any start-up. And if you're an introverted founder, an engineer who loves getting into the nitty gritty details of each feature, or someone new to selling, building a sales pitch and pipeline may be an even bigger challenge. The goal for early start-ups remains the same -- create momentum and generate revenue. In this class, you’ll learn strategies and techniques that you can start applying today to: Develop and strengthen your talk track Generate leads and win new clients. Some of the exercises require spontaneous thinking (yes, we call on folks) but the panel provides feedback (the goal — constructive ways to improve as well as compliments) so you learn and grow. This may sound hard, but remember, we all improve with “batting practice.” Oh, btw, we’ll also jump into my favorite exercise — how to pitch a CEO cold about your company and win a meeting. Please arrive early as the agenda is packed and we plan to start on time. Many thanks to our friends at Station Austin for sponsoring Founder-Led Sales for Startups. Station Austin is the center of gravity for entrepreneurs in Texas. They meet the best entrepreneurs in Texas & introduce them to their first investors, employees, mentors, and customers. To sign up for a Station Austin coworking membership, click here. First-timers, please note: Station Austin is in the OMNI building at the intersection of 7th Street and Brazos St. The building has entrances on 3 streets (7th St, Brazos St, and 8th St). You can enter from any street. Do not be surprised to see a hotel inside the building. The elevators are in the middle of the lobby. Please check the event page for the details on the event room and which floor it is on. The event venue may change depending on the availability and number of people attending, so always check the event page for the correct information. If it is on any floor other than the 1st, please read the note about the elevators below. The elevators may be confusing for first-timers. Each elevator is marked by an alphabet (A-F) that sticks above the corresponding elevator. Each elevator also has a touch panel to select the floor. Just select the floor you need to go to on any touch panel and it will show on the panel which elevator (A/B/C, etc.) is ready to go up to that floor. Just walk into that elevator and get off where the doors open which will be the floor you selected in the panel earlier. Feel free to walk in at any time during the event. We understand that people are busy and may be unable to make it to the events in time. If in doubt, always ask the people at the front desk (on any floor) for help.
